Recycling Service

Formatted Text

Once we have collected the used cooking oil from our customers' premises, it is delivered
to the nearest Auscol processing facility.

Recycling facilities are ISO 9001 certified, operate to the requirements of the Industry
Code of Practice, meet EPA legislation, and operate under strict OH&S guidelines and our
own environmental policy.  Oil is filtered as it is unloaded from the truck into large storage
tanks from where it will then be processed according to the code of practice.  Tanks are heated
and treated prior to a settling period.  Moisture collected from the recycling process is released
into treatment plants to remove any oils and fats and then discharged in a proper manner.
Our recycling process ensures that almost 90 per cent of the used cooking oil is recycled for
use in areas such as feed for animals, low-grade industrial lubricants, and bio-fuels.

We recycle used cooking oil in accordance with the Industry Code of Practice.  This is important
as recycled cooking oil re-enters the food chain via stock feed.  Due to the risk of BSE and other
diseases, governments have legislated to ensure improperly treated recycled cooking oils and fats
do not enter the system.  For this reason it is very important that you only support those recyclers
that operate to the requirements of the Industry Code of Practice and ISO9001.
